Further Information and Classroom Expectations....
Student homework, missing time or late work expectations:
Students, parents/guardians are encouraged to check my Website, which will highlight activities in class, as well as contain announcements, upcoming events, homework and due dates.
Students are responsible for materials covered in class. If you are absent from class it is your responsibility to find out what materials were covered in class on that particular day. If you are absent on the day of a quiz or test, the following day will be the designated makeup date.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Both formative (while learning) and summative will be used to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate that they have met the outcomes for this course. These assessments will include discussion, assignments, presentations, major projects, class work, quizzes, and unit tests. Summative grades for report cards will be determined by using a combination of these assessments throughout each term.
Power School Portal:
The link for the Power School Portal allows students and their parents/guardians access to student attendance, their progress on assessments, projects, quizzes, and tests.
Assessment Rubric:
Assessments will be marked with a 4 point rubric which indicates how much a student has learned of the outcomes being taught in the course.
The rubric looks like this:
1 - Limited knowledge and understanding of content and concepts. Limited application of related skills.
2 - Developing knowledge and understanding of content and concepts. Developing in the application of the related skills.
3 - Competent knowledge and understanding of content and concepts. Appropriate application of related skills.
